The Bosque Film Society will be hosting its 3rd Annual WILD WESTERN WEEKEND Free Film Festival featuring six free classic westerns in four days July 25-28 at The Cliftex Theatre in Clifton. Thanks to our generous members, patrons and sponsors, all six classic Western films will be offered to the public absolutely FREE of charge.
Offering an air-conditioned break from the harsh Texas summer just before returning to school, the Bosque Film Society will open the festival with Humphrey Bogart in “THE TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE” (1948) on Thursday, July 25 at 7 p.m. Featuring Gary Cooper and Grace Kelly, “HIGH NOON” (1952) will be Friday’s matinee at 5 p.m., followed by an all-star cast in “TOMBSTONE” (1993) starring Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer at 7 p.m.
Offering a family afternoon at the movies on Saturday, the Walt Disney classic “OLD YELLER” (1954) will tug at your heart strings at 4 p.m., followed by Kevin Costner’s Academy Award-winning western epic “DANCES WITH WOLVES” (1990) at 7 p.m.
Prior to Sunday’s matinee feature film, the Bosque Film Society will be presenting an encore screening of the worldwide award-winning documentary short film “VOICE OF THE COMMON MAN: THE LOMAX LEGACY” produced and directed by E. Brett Voss and William Godby beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The festival will conclude Sunday with a 4 p.m. matinee showing of Clint Eastwood’s “Man With No Name” in Sergio Leone’s epic spaghetti western “THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY” (1966).
