“I know what you’re thinking. ‘Did he fire six shots or only five?’ Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you’ve gotta ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya, punk?”
The Bosque Film Society invites the public to join now and experience our sixth 2026 monthly members-only FILM APPRECIATION NIGHT AT THE MOVIES featuring Clint Eastwood in his legendary role as ‘DIRTY HARRY” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 22 at The Cliftex Theatre in Clifton with an introductory presentation by Bosque Film Society board member Tony Talbert.

When a killer calling himself “Scorpio” menaces San Francisco, tough-as-nails Police Inspector “Dirty” Harry Callahan is assigned to track down the crazed psychopath.
In 1971, San Francisco faces the terror of a killer maniac (Andrew Robinson), who snipes at innocent victims and demands ransom through notes left at the crime scenes. Callahan (Clint Eastwood) is assigned to the case along with his newest partner, Inspector Chico Gonzalez (Reni Santoni), to track down and stop Scorpio.
Using humiliation and cat-and-mouse-type games against Callahan, Scorpio is put to the test with the cop with a dirty attitude.
From his debut, Callahan became the template for a new kind of film cop: an antihero who does not hesitate to cross professional boundaries in pursuit of his own vision of justice, especially when the law is poorly served by an inept, incompetent bureaucracy.
Harry Callahan was voted number 23 by Empire Magazine on their list of The 100 Greatest Movie Characters, and he was also named one of The 20 All Time Coolest Heroes in Pop Culture by Entertainment Weekly. In addition, Callahan ranks 42nd by Premiere magazine on their list of the 100 Greatest Movie Characters of All Time, and the character also received recognition from the American Film Institute.
Callahan’s trademark weapon, the Smith & Wesson Model 29 .44 Magnum revolver, was named the second greatest movie weapon of all time, behind the lightsaber from Star Wars.
